SEEK OR SHOUT PRIVACY AND COPYRIGHT POLICY

Seek or Shout is owned and run by Cision ("Seek or Shout,” "SOS,” “we” or "us"). At Cision, we care about providing you with the tools and information to manage and protect your online privacy.  We have, therefore, developed a policy to inform you about the types of information the SOS website collects, who may receive that information, and what we may do with the information.

We are sensitive to the protection of this type of customer identifiable information which an individual or another customer reasonably expects to be kept private.  While we have made every attempt to make this policy as clear as possible, if you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at: Cision US, Inc., 332 S. Scope

SOS has adopted this Privacy Policy to inform its customers and others about how it protects personally identifiable information and other information that may be collected when users utilize the SOS services.  This Privacy Policy covers SOS’s treatment of personal or personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") that may be collected when you are on the SeekorShout.com website (also, referred to as the “Site”), and when you use the SOS services.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that contain information a web site uses for tracking purposes. SOS uses cookies to facilitate the visitor experience and/or to enhance site content by directly providing that information to third party services, such as Gigya, Google Analytics, and KissMetrics, as well as compiling information about the specific sections and pages visitors use. Cookies can also help us provide information which is targeted to your interests. We use this information to determine our users’ demographics, interest, and behavior to better understand and serve you and our community.  SOS and other third party vendors, including Google, may use these cookies to serve advertisements based on a user’s prior visits to our website. Users may opt out of a third party’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative Opt-out page at www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp, or Google’s use by visiting the Google Advertising Opt-out page atwww.google.com/privacy/ads.

Syndication with Other Social Media Sites

You may choose to use our content syndication features in order to boost the visibility of your postings to other social sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.  In order to facilitate these features within our Site, we may share your information with third party providers.  However, their use of your information is restricted to facilitating syndication, i.e.,  logging in with third-party credentials, and sending private invitations to individuals with whom you are connected on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, with your permission. Additionally, information posted as anonymous on the SOS Site will not be syndicated social media sites.

Information Collection

SOS collects personal information, such as name, email address, and information about online activities within SOS which can be directly linked to individual SOS users.  If you register as a SOS user, we will create an account for you, at SeekorShout.com, which will contain your name, e-mail, and other identifying information.  We may use the provided email address to send out the periodic emails according to your SOS user preferences, and you can modify your provided email address at any time.

Please note that your obtained personally identifiable information will be stored and processed on computers outside of the United States (e.g., Amazon services –http://aws.amazon.com/security). The laws regarding the handling of personal data in the United States may differ from the laws of other countries but, as we explain below, SOS will make every reasonable effort to ensure that your information in a safe, confidential and secure environment.

SOS may also collect personal information from your usage of the Site. If you do nothing during your visit but browse and read the information contained on the accessible pages, we may gather certain information about your visit automatically, such as your IP address, the date and time you access a given page, and the pages you visit. We use cookies to identify return users, so that they need not log in each time they arrive.

We do not obtain any financial information, such as credit card and/or bank account billing information.  When purchasing any services through the Site, you will be directed to a third party vendor (e.g., PayPal) to facilitate your transaction.  These third party vendors may include credit card companies and banking institutions used to process and support your transaction or activity.  Use of these third party vendors is subject to the third party’s own terms and conditions, and you are responsible for reviewing and accepting such terms before using any third party website or service.

Our Use of Your Information

We use information in the files we maintain about you, and the other information we obtain from your current and past activities on the Site to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our Terms of Service. At times, we may review the data of multiple members to identify problems or resolve disputes.

You agree that we may use personally identifiable information about you to analyze your Site usage, improve our content and service offerings, and customize our content, layout, and services. These uses improve our Site and provided services and by tailoring them closer to meet your needs.

You agree that we may use your information to contact you and to deliver information to you such as administrative notices, service offerings, and communications relevant to your use of the SOS Site or Services. By accepting this Privacy Policy, you expressly agree to receive this information.

Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Information

Information used in the registration process will not be sold or rented to any individual, business, or government entity.  The email you use to register will not be displayed to anyone unless you opt to have this information displayed.  Information used to fill out your user profile will be used to create a publicly viewable page that can be indexed within search engines.  This publicly viewable page will contain your name, organization, title, and city/state.  Additionally, your submitted profile information will be reviewed and used internally to assist in Cision’s media database product and services.  We may apply your submitted profile information as part of a quality and user profile accuracy check on our media and key influencer research services.  You may review Cision’s Privacy Policy athttp://us.cision.com/privacy_policy.asp.

If we are required to respond to court orders, subpoenas, or other legal process, we may share your personal information in responding.  We may also share your information to investigate and/or prevent unlawful activity which may threaten other SOS users or that otherwise violates our Terms of Service.

Your information will be shared with our parent, affiliates, and/or subsidiaries.  To the extent applicable, these entities will follow privacy practices no less protective of all SOS users than our practices outlined in this policy.  In the event of merger or acquisition, we may share some or all of your information in order to continue to provide services.  If such an event occurs, we will inform of the event and ensure that the controlling entity follows the privacy practices outlined in this policy.

Your Use of Other Users’ Information

SOS provides its services and use of the Site in accordance with its Terms of Service.  With respect to other SOS users’ personally identifiable information, you agree not to disclose the personally identifiable information or confidential information about another SOS user to any third party without the consent SOS and the affected user.  We do not tolerate spam, and under no circumstances, are you licensed to add any information about a SOS user to any email (or mailing address) recipient or contact list without the express consent of that SOS user.  Any violation of this policy may result in the immediate discontinuation of services, as well as other available remedies.  Furthermore, we expect SOS to only send relevant responses to requests for information, and any other purpose is prohibited.  Although you have the ability to completely block another SOS user, all postings and messages within the Site are accompanied by a “Report Spam” link, or you may report spam activity by another SOS member by emailing us directly at sosadmin@cision.com.  If spam in reported to us, the activity and content will be reviewed by our team.  If any item is found to be inappropriate, in violation of our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy, we reserve the right to remove the item, as well as deactivate any SOS account.

 

 

Security & Access

We use industry standard practices to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal identifiable information. We treat data as an asset that must be protected against loss and unauthorized access. We employ many different security techniques to protect such data from unauthorized access by others inside and outside the company.  We restrict access to nonpublic information to people on the SOS team who need to access that information in order to provide services to you.

Lawful Use of Site

Our Site and the SOS services may only be used for lawful purposes. Transmission of any material in violation of any U.S., state or local law, rule or regulation is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted or trademarked material; material legally judged to be threatening or obscene; material protected by trade secret; or material which violates a legally protected privacy right of an individual. Persons under the age of 18 may not access the Site.

SOS operates in full compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA). We will cooperate with local, state and federal courts and law enforcement agencies in the investigation and prosecution of claims of illegal activities when legally obligated to do so.  This Site is considered an “Internet Service Provider” under the DMCA, and we maintain specific contact information provided below, including an email address, for notifications of claimed infringement regarding materials posted to this site.  All notices should be addressed to the following contact person: Cision US, Inc., 332 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60604, [email address].  You may contact us for notice of a claimed infringement with details regarding the allegedly infringing posted material and we will investigate those complaints.  If, in our discretion, the posted material violates applicable law or another’s third party’s rights, we will remove or disable access to the material, and we will notify the party who posted the material of such action.

In your notification to us, please provide the following DMCA-required information:

(i)             Your contact information, including your email address, phone number, and mailing address;

(ii)            Description of the copyrighted work that is allegedly being infringed;

(iii)           Description of the infringing material and information sufficient to permit us to locate it;

(iv)          Your statement that you have a good faith belief that the material is not authorized;

(v)           Your statement, signed under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you have the authority to enforce the copyrights that are claimed to be infringed; and

(vi)          Signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

Failure to include all of the information listed above may result in the delay of the processing of your complaint.

We will comply with all legally enforceable subpoenas, search warrants, court orders and other forms of legal process. Under SOS’s Terms of Service, the customer agrees to indemnify and hold SOS and its, officers, directors, employees and agents, harmless from any claims, liabilities and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, resulting from the customer's use or misuse of the service which damages SOS, its officers, directors, employees and agents, as well as any user, or another party.

Amendments

SOS will keep this policy current and reserves the right to change this policy at any time by amending the content of this policy. SOS will post a notice of changes on our Site, when and if the policy is amended. The policies expressed herein are not intended to and do not create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any customer, user, or other third party.

SeekorShout.com, Seek or Shout, and SOS are the exclusive trade names and marks of Cision US, Inc.
