The Highly Popular Fashion of Goodwill Runway Show & Gala is Back!

Washington, DC - August 17, 2012 - Can’t make it to Fashion Week in Milan this year? Don’t worry; Goodwill of Greater Washington is once again bringing a very unique runway show to the nation’s capital this fall with a fashionably couture twist! The theme of this year’s event is La Passione di Milano (The Passion of Milan) and it will be held at the Italian Embassy on September 27, 2012. The runway show will showcase quality vintage and contemporary fashions available at Goodwill Retail Stores by mixing Italian influence with contemporary dance. All items featured in the runway show as well as many other quality Goodwill fashions will be sold at the event. Money raised through the fashion show will help Goodwill open a new retail store & donation center, allowing us to employ more people and raise more money to support our workforce development programs. In conjunction with this unique runway show, Goodwill has again partnered with international fashion designer and creative consultant, tu-anh, who will be directing, styling, coordinating, and choreographing the one-of-a-kind event using vintage and contemporary clothing and accessories pulled directly from the donations made to Goodwill. Based out of Washington DC Metropolitan area, tu-anh is a globally respected fashion designer and image consultant who will be incorporating her own exclusive style and design background to polish and modernize the donated Goodwill fashions. Money raised through the fashion show will help Goodwill open a new retail store & donation center. Each Goodwill store employs between 25 and 30 people and can generate a sustainable annual profit of $250,000. All of that revenue goes towards the fulfillment of Goodwill’s mission to provide job training and employment services to people with disabilities and disadvantages here in the Greater Washington, DC area.
