Skanska invests EUR 42 M, about SEK 357 M, in phase I of the Dominikanski office project in Wroclaw, in Poland. The total leasable space for the entire project will be about 40,000 square meters. 

Skanska divests interest in five social infrastructure projects in the UK for GBP 22 M, about SEK 220 M

Skanska divest its share of three school projects and two street lighting projects in the UK for GBP 22 M, about SEK 220 M. The buyer is the Skanska Pension Fund (Skanska UK’s main pension scheme) and the transaction will be recorded in the second quarter of 2013. 

Skanska to construct railway in Norway, for NOK 1.34 M, about SEK 1.5 billion

Skanska Norway has signed a contract with Jernbaneverket for construction of nine kilometers of railway between Farriseidet, Larvik, to Telemark municipality border, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 1.34 billion, about SEK 1.5 billion, and will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Norway for the second quarter 2013.

Skanska signs contract to rehabilitate the Longfellow Bridge in the northeast of USA for USD 89 M, about SEK 573 M

Skanska has signed a USD 89 M, about SEK 573 M, contract with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to design and rehabilitate the historic Longfellow Bridge. The project is a joint venture with J.F. White Contracting Company and Consigli Construction. The total project value is USD 255 M, about SEK 1.6 billion. Skanska will include its full 35 percent share of the contract, totaling USD 89 M, about SEK 573 M, in order bookings for Skanska USA Civil for the first quarter 2013. 

Skanska to build a pipeline for concentrate transport in Chile for USD 67 M, about SEK 432 M

Skanska has been awarded a contract to build a pipeline for concentrate transport in Antofagasta, Chile. The contract will be carried out by a special purpose company formed by Skanska Chile and Conduto, a local company. The total amount of the contract is USD 112 M, about SEK 720 M, of which Skanska’s share is 60 percent, amounting to a total of USD 67 M, about SEK 432 M. The customer is Minera Escondida Ltda (BHP Billiton), and the order will included in order bookings for Skanska Latin America for the first quarter 2013.

Skanska signed contract for construction and renovation of IsoKristiina Shopping Center in Lappeenranta, Finland, for about SEK 754 M

Skanska has signed a contract for the construction and renovation of IsoKristiina Shopping Center, located in Lappeenranta, Finland. The value of the contract is EUR 88 M, about SEK 754 M. The investors in the project are Citycon and Ilmarinen, with 50 percent each. The order will be included in order bookings for Skanska Finland for the first quarter 2013.

Skanska acquires highways services business in UK

Skanska UK has acquired a highways operations and maintenance business from Atkins for GBP 18 M, about SEK 186 M on a debt free basis. Of this, GBP 2 M, about SEK 21 M, is deferred and will be paid subject to future performance. The business comprises eight live contracts with six local authorities and the UK’s Highways Agency to deliver maintenance for the road and motorway network. The business has about 1,200 employees and the revenue for the last six months, April 1 to September 30 2012, was GBP 80 M, about SEK 828 M. 

Skanska awarded Bond Street Crossrail main station works in the UK, worth GBP 55 M, about SEK 554 M

Skanska UK has been awarded a five-year contract, in joint venture with Costain, to deliver the main station works at the new Crossrail Bond Street Station in London. The contract is worth GBP 55 M, about SEK 554 M, for Skanska, and GBP 110 M, about SEK 1.11 billion, to the joint venture. The order will be included in order bookings for Skanska UK for the first quarter 2013.

Skanska to build image and intervention center at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden for SEK 399 M

Skanska has been awarded a contract for building the image and invention center at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. The client is Västfastigheter. The contract comprises construction and conversion of a total area of about 22,000 square meters. The contract value is SEK 399 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska Sweden in the first quarter 2013.
