Call for Industry-Wide District Heating Quality Standards

A director of the UK’s longest-established manufacturer of pre-insulated pipe systems used for district heating has called for an industry-wide system of quality standards to be established. He has warned that, without it, the rapid growth that the sector is experiencing may see a repeat of the same mistakes made during the last boom of the 1970s and 80s that led to catastrophic system failures.

Boris Johnson unveils plans for a new hub airport in London

The building of a new hub airport in the Thames Estuary has been widely debated. The government has planned to bring together key parties for a consultation on UK aviation – which will include a review of the plans for a new airport in the Thames Estuary. Furthermore, a study will be carried out in the Spring which will analyse the options for “maintaining the UK’s aviation hub status”.
